On Saturday, October 7th and Sunday, October 8th, examination and seminar for Kobe Shohei Juku (Mr. Masami Kawabata, Dojo Rep) were held at Centre Kakehashi. People including those from unaffiliated dojos of Shohei Juku from all over the Kansai area participated, and it was a very lively practice.
Gokoku Do io 45th Anniversary & Takasaao Doio 40th Anniversary
On October 9th (National Holiday), joint-practice and enbukai to celebrate Gokoku Dojo’s 45th anniversary and Takasago Dojo’s 40th anniversary were held at Tenjin Dojo. This time, it turned out a fruitful enbukai with performances by the active instructors as well as the successive instructors since the opening of the dojos.
After the enbukai, we had a celebration party at Garden Palace just nearby. Many people including those who were the members 40 or 45 years ago joined us. As we enjoyed talking about old stories together, we had such a enjoyable time that we almost forgot about time. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the planning committee.
Tosu Shohei Jukui
On Sunday, October 22nd, the 25th anniversary seminar and enbukai for Tosu Shohei Juku (Mr. Mataji Uchida, Dojo Rep) were held at Tosu City Multi Purpose Hall Martial Art Room. As people from nearby dojos, Kumamoto Dojo and Harima Shohei Juku participated, it was an event worthy of the 25th anniversary celebration. After the embukai, we had a celebration party at a nearby Chinese restaurant.
For the three day seminar from October 27th to 29th at Hilo Dojo in Hawaii (Barbara and Robert Klein, Dojo Reps), I left Japan on the 26th and returned on the 31st. Ms. Tamami Nakashimada and two people from Shohei Juku Aikido Canada, and Masaru and Keiko Kiyota from Vancouver Shomonkai joined us in Hawaii. From Japan, Kohei Yamada as my suite as well as Mr. Masahiko Sudo, Mr. Masamitsu Nagaie, and Ms. Ai Shiozuka accompanied me. As it was just during the Halloween season, it was a fun seminar.
